There was also local Chicago band of the same name that turned into The Rosehips and then eventually the brilliant band called The Chamber Strings. All three of those bands being the projects of Kevin Junior.
Not the Liverpudlian oufit with connections to Pete Wylie et al, but the early 1980s sort of raw synth-glam outfit that had a single called "Ash in Drag." They had a singer, keyboardist/synthist, guitarist, bassist, and a sax player! No drummer, the synthist handled the substitute.
They were supposedly bigger in Germany than anywhere else, and most likely had some influence on "electro," and, possibly, schaffel now. They were in the London neo-glam scene to a degree as well.
Any info?

There was a scottish band too - released an album that I think was called 'Sour Mash'. Their guitarist went on to join London glam legends Carri, led by the eponymous Carri who was described in Seb Hunter's Hell Bent for Leather book as 'Fagin-like' ....
Gunstone, you mentioned a name...Carri? What he up to these days? Last time I heard he was a teacher, but that was like years ago. Oh, and are you talking about Scottish Matt? Anyways, apparently Matt lives in Holland now, shaved his head, put on lots of weight, and is a football hooligan, and gets into lots of fights. Well, that's what I heard anyway.lol

The band I'm referring to was from Uk, not sure where. As I recall, they did play The Pipeline in London.
<font size="4" face="Arial">Carri - a teacher? Not heard that! I saw him about 2 years ago at the Electric Ballroom and he was, well, a little bizarre. I'm pretty sure he said he was working for Kensington & Chelsea council, though no idea what he's doing there. He looked exactly as he has done for years.Originally posted by Sherri Sixxx:

The guitarist in both Carri & The Mystery Girls was called Simon, and I don't think he was Scottish. He had a very well-to-do English accent. The bassist in Carri, Craig, was Scottish and certainly had a bit of a reputation!
Oh, and I assume we're discounting the Mystery Girls that briefly pop up in 'Decline Of Western Civilization Part II' .......
I do believe we may have found the most generic band name for a Glam group.
